Cathy Fisher established New World Wellness Center in 2003 to share her passion for healthy, balanced living. Her journey to achieving her own Optimal Wellness started many years ago.
Cathy Fisher has been passionate about fitness since the age of 12. She began strength training to prepare for a pit crew competition so she could reach her goal as one of the fastest women in NASCAR™ to change a tire on a race car; she achieved that goal by changing a tire in 8 seconds flat! Although strength and conditioning training has been the main focus for most of her life, she has developed an appreciation for the importance of proper health-fitness balance, through all dimensions of wellness, including nutrition and positive lifestyle habits.
Cathy brings a wide range of training and experience as a wellness coach to New World Wellness Center, having achieved personal trainer certifications through International Sports Sciences Association™, National Academy of Sports Medicine™, and World Instructor Training School™. She is the first to have fulfilled Part 1 and 2 requirements for registration as a Personal Fitness trainer through the National Board of Fitness Examiners, (NBFE). She is also certified by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America™ as a group fitness instructor, Yoga Alliance™ as a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and is a Stott™ Pilates full certified Level 1 & Level 2 instructor. Cathy continues to expand her knowledge and skills in the wellness industry through ongoing participation in continuing education programs.
Cathy also is a certified health coach. She is certified through The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York. The intensive programs taught Cathy over 100 different diet and food methodology. She also went under an intensive coaching program at the institute where she learned how to make deep connections with clients and how to motivate them while instilling accountability into the client for their continued success.
Cathy balances her involvement in the wellness industry through a business development consultancy organization, Quality Improvement Strategies, she started in 1996 after working as an engineer in the automotive industry for over 15 years. She has personally experienced the benefits of improved wellness in her own life and the positive effects a healthy lifestyle has made on the success of her other businesses.
